This is my first time to take a Higher Ground Core class. Do you recommend that I take a private session first?
Our skilled instructors are great at adjusting and modifying for all fitness levels. However, if you have a nutrition goal, fitness goal, injuries, painful joints, or a severe medical condition, we recommended you book a Personal Training session first to assess your fitness level. If you have concerns about your ability to participate in a group class, rates, or anything else, please let us know and we will gladly discuss with you. Our clients come first!
Do you have lockers/showers?
We do have cubbies for you to store your belongings in while taking class, a changing room, bathroom, but there are no showers. However, don’t worry- we have lots of products for you to freshen up with.
How early should I arrive to class?
If it is your first time we recommend arriving 10 minutes before the class so that we can walk you through our studio and equipment. If it isn’t your first time we recommend 5 minutes before the class.
What if I arrive late?
As we recommend that you arrive 5 minutes before the class, we understand that life may happen. In the case that you are more than 5 minutes late to class your reserved spot may be forfeited to a standby client. Cancellations with in 12 hours of the start time will be assessed a no show fee of $20.
What should I wear?
We recommend you wear something that is comfortable to move in as well as sneakers. We do sell apparel in store at a 10% discount rate to our auto pay members.
Where should I park?
We have a few parking spots in front of our building, and also a HUGE parking lot with a back entrance. We are located in between Baby Gap and Stonewall Kitchen on the front. Backside parking is next to Red Heat Tavern.
How old do you have to be to take a Higher Ground Core class?
If you are under 18 we require a parent or guardian signature or written consent via email, text, or in person.
Are there different class levels?
Our standard Higher Ground Core classes are formatted for all fitness levels with modifications for all. We do offer advance classes and we recommend that you have taken at least 10 HGC classes before reserving a spot.
Can I take if I am pregnant?
Please let the instructor know before class. Doctors do not advised that you try a new workout while pregnant, but if you have been working out with Higher Ground Core before becoming pregnant you can continue to do so as long as you are comfortable. If you have been working out elsewhere, please contact us first to discuss.
How do I create an account?
We are glad you asked! Click the “Log In” button in the top right corner. Once it redirects you, enter your email and create a password. Confirm your email is correct, then you will be redirected to buy a package and sign up for class!
How do I book a Personal Training session?
If you are interested in a Personal Training session go ahead and set up an account with us. When you are done, email us at or contact Erica via call or text at 860-985-5675, and we will set you up with an instructor and time that best suits you.
Private Policy: Higher Ground Core will be collecting customer information, before and after pictures, and personal information to reach your fitness goals. This will not be shared with anyone! We will only share before and after ;pictures with stats upon a written agreement with the customer.
